Musical Theatre

Students must be 6+

In Musical theater, students work on developing their abilities to perform a musical number that includes acting, singing, and dance. The instructor focuses on each skill individually and then works to put them all together in a fun, creative, and expressive way. The activities in this class are geared toward improving and enhancing the student's self-image and self confidence.  Jazz is the primary dance genre taught, with emphasis on correct ballet technique.

Summer Session will not include any costumes or recital, but will include some technique as well as combinations.
Fall Session classes will culminate in an annual Recital or Showcase and include added costs such as costume and recital fees.

Dress Code Required for ALL Students:    comfortable form fitting clothing, and bare feet (Some recital costumes, based on the number they perform, may require the purchase of performance dance shoes.  You will be notified by the winter months if any shoes will be required AND they will be provided in the CMI boutique for sizing and onsite purchase ease.)
Hair should be worn up and away from face in a pony tail, braid, etc.
